Using the Law of Attraction for Joy, Relationships, Money & More

The Law of Attraction is the most powerful law in the universe. Just like gravity, it is always in effect, always in motion. It is working in your life at this very moment. You are always in a state of creation. You are creating your reality in every moment of every day. You are creating your future with every single thought: either consciously or subconsciously. You can’t take a break from it and decide not to create because creation never stops.

Understanding just how the Law of Attraction is a fundamental key to your success. If you want to change your life, and empower yourself to create an amazing future, then you need to understand your role in the Law of Attraction.

Expect miracles.

The Law of Attraction allows for infinite possibilities, infinite abundance, and infinite joy. It knows no order of difficulty, and it can change your life in every way.

In order to really understand how the Law of Attraction works in your life, we need to look at a few things. I will explain the Law of Attraction, how to master it in your life to attract success in many areas, a meditation technique, and some tips for abundance.

Let’s start at the beginning.

What is the Law of Attraction?

Simply put, the Law of Attraction says that you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. Whatever you give your energy and attention to will come back to you.

So, if you stay focused on the good and positive things in your life, you will automatically attract more good and positive things into your life. If you are focused upon lack and negativity, then that is what will be attracted into your life.

Here’s how it works:

Like attracts like. If you are feeling excited, enthusiastic, passionate, happy, joyful, appreciative, or abundant, then you are sending out positive energy.

On the other hand, if you are feeling bored, anxious, stressed out, angry, resentful, or sad, you are sending out negative energy.

The universe, through the Law of Attraction, will respond enthusiastically to both of these vibrations. It doesn’t decide which one is better for you, it just responds to whatever energy you are creating, and it gives you more of the same. You get back exactly what you put out there.

Whatever you are thinking and feeling at any given time is basically your request to the universe for more of the same. Because your energy vibrations will attract energy back to you of the same frequencies, you need to make sure that you are continually sending out energy, thoughts, and feelings that resonate with what you want to be, do, and experience.

Your energy frequencies need to be in tune with what you want to attract in your life.

If joy and love are what you want to attract, then the vibrational frequencies of joy and love are what you want to create.

How to Use the Law of Attraction

Once you understand the Law of Attraction, and how it works, you can begin to consciously and intentionally create a better life.

You can choose to respond differently to the situations that arise during your day.

You can choose to think differently.

You can choose to focus and think about the things you want more of in your life.

You can choose to experience more of the things that make you feel good.

You can choose to deliberately participate in the creation of your future by managing your thoughts and feelings.

Using the Law of Attraction is a three-step process: ask, believe and receive. Let’s go into detail on each aspect.

1. Ask the universe for what you want, not for what you don’t want

Every day, you send out requests to the universe—as well as to your subconscious mind—in the form of thoughts: literally, what you think about, read about, talk about, and give your attention to. Unfortunately, what we give our attention to is often random and not deliberate, you simply respond to situations.

Because the Law of Attraction states that you’ll attract into your life whatever you give your energy, focus, and attention to—wanted or unwanted.

You must become more deliberate about what you think and feel.

To become more intentional about the thoughts you offer the universe, you’ll need to decide what you want—but also practice feeling those emotions you’ll experience when you have it.

Perhaps you want to change career, move to another state, win a major professional award, have your own TV show, or recover from a major illness.

  • How would you feel once you’ve “arrived” at your goal?
  • What would you be doing throughout your day?
  • Who would you be spending time with?

The more you focus on and talk about what you DO want (instead of what you don’t want), the faster you will manifest your dreams and goals.

2. Believe that you’ll get what you want, then take action

What does it mean to believe you’ll get what you want?

It means maintaining a positive expectancy, going about your day with certainty— knowing that you’ve put your future in the hands of powers that are greater than yours. It’s deciding with conviction that what you want will absolutely happen.

This is not always easy.

Many people have limiting beliefs which keep them from allowing abundance and happiness into their lives. If this describes you, realize that you must first change your limiting beliefs into thoughts that you are deserving, worthy, lovable, desirable, and capable—as well as smart enough, strong enough, attractive enough, rich enough, good enough, and “enough” in every other way that matters to you.

Once you believe that you’ll get what you want, the second part of the equation is to take action.

Taking the actions that would create your desired result affirms your belief that what you want is within reach.

3. Receive what you want by becoming a vibrational match for it

In order to receive that which you are intending, you must become a “vibrational match” for what you want to attract into your life.

The easiest way to become a vibrational match is to focus on creating positive emotions of love, joy, appreciation, and gratitude throughout your day. You can also practice feeling the emotions you would be experiencing if you already had what you wanted. You can also create these emotions through the thoughts that you think. In fact, your thoughts are creating feelings all the time, so it’s important to catch yourself when your emotions turn negative and turn them to positive emotions.

As with everything, this takes time and practice. However, the more you put a conscious effort into attracting what you want, and following these steps, the easier it will become.

You can begin to expect miracles.

Money and the Law of Attraction

If you want to create financial abundance in your life, then start by focusing on prosperity and money flowing into your life.

Envision the checks coming in the mail. Write yourself a check for the sum of money you wish to manifest this year, and post it in a visible location. Every time you see it, believe that it is possible.

Remember to take a moment to be thankful for everything that you already have. By doing this, you are creating a vibrational match for the financial abundance that you want to attract into your future life.

The Law of Attraction in Love and Relationships

you want to create an abundance of love in your life, then focus on love. Be the love you want to attract.

Become more loving and generous with others and with yourself. By creating the vibration of love, you will automatically draw more love into your life.

Focus on whatever it is that you want to create more of in your life, and remember to be grateful for that which you already have.

Gratitude itself is a form of abundance, and the vibrational frequency of gratitude and appreciation will automatically attract even more to be grateful for.

A Law of Attraction Meditation for Guidance

Take time each day to step away from the clutter and the noise. A daily commitment to spend time in this still, quiet place is a commitment to clarity and inner peace.

We need this time and space in our lives in order to remember who we really are, what’s important, and where our personal truth lies. It is our time to calm the spirit and soothe the soul.

You can learn how to meditate in many different ways, but in general, they consist of simply being still and quiet for a period of time and focusing your attention on either your breath or a mantra of some sort.

If you are new to the practice of meditation—your thoughts will drift, and your mind will wander at first. Remember not to be hard on yourself when this happens. This is just part of learning how to meditate.

If you have never meditated before, here’s a simple structure of exercises you can use to begin.

  1. Find a quiet place, close your eyes, and focus on slowing down your breathing.
  2. Repeat an uplifting word or phrase.
  3. Move into a state of quiet.
  4. Imagine yourself surrounded by a sphere of light.

The regular practice of meditation will help clear your mind of distractions, cleanse your thoughts, and enhance your spiritual connection. It renews the spirit, relaxes the body, and calms the soul.

Law of Attraction Success Stories

The Law of Attraction states that you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. There are thousands of stories of people using it to achieve success, miracles, and things that they never though possible.

Let me tell you my story…

My mentor was a man named W. Clement Stone, who was worth $600 million when I worked for him.

He coached me about the Law of Attraction when I was a teacher in Chicago making $8,000 a year. He told me, “I want you to set a goal that’s so big that if you achieve it, you’ll know it’s because of the secret I am teaching you.”

I decided that that goal was to make $100,000 that year. I created an image of a $100,000 dollar bill and hung it on the ceiling above my bed. Every morning I’d see the image. I’d visualize what it would be like to have $100,000. Everything I did was to achieve that goal. At the end of the year, I had made $97,000. This would never have been possible without the Law of Attraction, these visualization techniques and meditation.

I have since gone beyond that goal by using The Law of Attraction, in my life.

Law of Attraction Quotes

Throughout history, the greatest minds and spiritual teachers and leaders have been pointing to this simple truth. These people knew the power that our thoughts have over our lives. Here are 10 Law of Attraction quotes for some added inspiration.

“Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.” – Robert Kiyosaki

“The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.” – Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

Law of Attraction Tips for Letting it Work in Your Life

Now that you understand a little bit more about how you participate in the process of the Law of Attraction, you can begin to take responsibility for everything that you are currently in the process of attracting into your life.

Now that you are aware of the role you play in creating your life, you can no longer create your future accidentally or by default!

Take this to heart, because this is your moment, your time to begin consciously, intentionally, and deliberately participating in the creation of the future you desire.

1. Your Thoughts Determine Your Desires

Your thoughts are powerful. They are real, they are measurable, they are energy. Every single thought you have is a statement of your desires to the universe.

The thoughts you think today, feelings you feel today, and actions you take today will determine your experiences tomorrow.

So it is imperative that you learn to think and behave in a positive way that is in alignment with what you ultimately want to be, do, and experience in life.

2. Dream Big

Don’t censor your dreams or vision with practicalities and probabilities. You don’t need to know every single step that it will take to achieve your goals. Just decide what you want. Know that you deserve it.

Believe you can have it, then release it, and let it go.

Open yourself up to infinite possibilities. Watch for the signs. Watch the miracles unfold. Now, consider this possibility—if you can figure it all out on your own, then your dream may not be big enough!

3. Use Positive Affirmations

Affirmations simply affirm your positive beliefs about yourself and about life. Every thought you think and every word you say is an affirmation. Your thoughts and words are declarations of who you think you are and how you perceive the world to be.

Strong, positive affirmations are powerful means of self-transformation and they are a key element in the creation of the life you desire.

They work by purposely replacing the limiting ideas, negative beliefs, and self-talk that you have taken on and internalized over the years with positive statements that assert who you want to be and how you want to experience life.

4. Clarify Your Goals

There are no limits on your dreams and goals. The whole world is out there just waiting for you. This is an inspirational technique that you might want to try as well.

A great process for clarifying some of your more long-term life goals and dreams is to make a list of 101 goals that you would like to accomplish before you die—101 things you would like to do, be, or have.

I wrote my life goals list in 1989 and you can read my personal life goals list for inspiration.

5. Use a Vision Board to Attract Resources That Help Achieve Your Goals

Having a daily vision board practice will keep your mind focused on your goals. You can learn how to use a vision board here.

Take Positive Action!

Start by opening your mind and your heart.

Strive to become more aware of the amazing synchronicity that already exists in your life. Sweep away any lingering negative thoughts or emotions.

Sweep away any doubt. And then take actions each and every day that will move you toward your purpose and the fulfillment of your dreams.

The Law of Attraction allows for infinite possibilities, infinite abundance, and infinite joy. It knows no order of difficulty, and it can change your life in every way if you let it

Everything You Need to Know About Texas’ Favorite Pastime: Floating the River

Summer in Texas is grounds for one thing and one thing only: floating the river. If you don’t know what river we’re talking about, you’re probably not from here, and that’s completely okay! We hold no judgment or resentment towards you, and we welcome you to take a seat and become a little more well-versed in the art of floatin’.

Let’s talk about the fact that you have choices, here. There’s not one set river to float in the entire state, so fret not! Also, if you’re in town on vacation and aren’t floating with an experienced professional, you have nothing to be worried about. The task at hand can still be completed, and well, as long as it’s rightfully planned out justenough.

It’s also important to understand that not every human is suited for the river. Though it may sound like a casual and relaxing time sans stress, some can find it to be a bit daunting. To those who feel this way, we say you can’t kick something ’til you try it, and what’s a better time to try floating in ice cold water than during the brutally hot season of summer in Texas? We don’t know, either. Now that you’re ready to plan your trip, there are a few essential bases to cover before you hit the open waters.

WHO’S COMING WITH?

If you haven’t thought about this, now’s the perfect time to consider who to bring to the river. Do you have a friend that always shows up with a Bluetooth speaker and a 12 pack of beer? Invite them to the river.

Is there someone who almost lives in any body of water during their time off? Invite them. It’s all about making the most out of your day with the people who will do the same, whoever that may be to you.

WHAT ARE YOU BRINGING?

To get the obvious item out of the way, of course you’ll need a tube. Now, there are places where you can rent tubes, but let’s be honest: do you want an air valve poking into you the entire time? Do you want to be forced into holding your drink the entire time? Nope.

Tubes can also be bought for a fairly decent price at the closest sporting goods or convenient store. You know, the ones with headrests and cupholders, also known as a revolutionary and necessary investment.

You’ll also need a cooler. Whether you’re indulging in an adult beverage or are solely focused on hydration, these floats are multiple hours long, the sun’s hot, and you’ll need a drink of some sort. Tubing rental places offer cooler tubes so that you don’t have to invest in something you’ll only use half of the time, and they also generally supply rope to ensure your cooler is locked and loaded throughout the course of your float.

Out of necessity, it’s recommended that you wear shoes that can take water like a champ, while also granting you structure and support when waters get shallow and upward mobility is calling.

WHEN SHOULD YOU GO?

There’s not necessarily a right or wrong answer to this one, but there are cautionary steps to take. If you have the luxury of working irregular hours and the added flexibility which it allows, it’s probably in your best interest to hit up a river during the week.

Many places tend to be more poppin’ on the weekends, and the river is no exception. There’s nothing wrong with going on the weekends, though! The price may be a few bucks higher and the river will be noticeably more crowded, but that’s all a part of the experience; so experiencing it, you must!

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Here’s where you have some options. For starters, it’s vital to know that whichever decision you make, you’re making a good one. All of the rivers you can float in Texas are gorgeous (and cold!), making for a beautiful day out on the water. The popular choices are to float the Guadalupe River or the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas.

Why? Because they’re generally centrally located and both have teal water that would make any outdoor fanatic squeal with joy. The great thing about these two rivers is that both have a plethora of options when it comes to starting points and tube rentals, and they’re both a short drive out in the middle of the Hill Country. What more could you ask for?

WHY SHOULD YOU FLOAT?

Because Texas — that’s why. On a more serious note, you should go because it’s an experience unlike any other, it’s as hot as the sun out, and your eyes will be in for a treat. Ultimately, you’ll be refreshed, get a tan, and have an exceptionally great day. What’s there to lose?

If you’re visiting Texas but floating just isn’t for you, check out our list of must-do and must-see sites in Texas during the summer to rack of some inspiration!

Make money in everyday ways!

5 Simple Steps to build your savings.

Image result for pictures of money

The average american is in approximately twenty thousand dollars in debt or further. The pressure of trying to do the things you need and want that require money can be mentally crippling. The weight of having debt that you do not have the ability to pay back it equated to the stress of an unfaithful significant other. The second most reason used for the end of a marriage for ages between 18-35 is financial differences. BUT WAIT!!! Don’t freak out! What if I told you that there are some helpful tips to manage your money so that, it doesn’t manage you? Here are my personal most helpful tips on gaining control of your money and learning to save some on the side.

1.) Find out where all of your money goes.

It’s so important to see where and how much, of your money, is being spent. For one month write down everything you spend money on and how much you spend, whether that be cash or card. Some examples of things to write down are; bills, clothing, makeup, gas, groceries, fast food, eating out, or anything else you can think of you that you spend any amount of money on. at the end of the month add each thing up. When I did my month I discovered I had spent $186.33 on fast food alone! If you don’t discover your spending habits, you can never create new ones.

2.) Budget your monthly spending!

Setting a budget is imperative to gaining control of your money. After doing a test month, sit down and decide how much you actually want to spend in each of those areas, I personally did not want to be spending nearly $200 a month on fast food, that would only be making me unhealthy, in the long run, anyways. There are many really awesome apps out there that have budget formats that, you can just input your paycheck, what you have to pay toward bills, you can also enter into the amount you would like to save that moth, bi-week or week in order to get you to where you want to be. You can use whatever you feel best for you and your plans

3.) Generic brands are your friend.

We as people want the best of the best, but what if I told you that a lot of companies make the same exact items, only package it differently, BY CHANGING THE LABEL?! Here is a secret about your brain; Your sight could literally change the way the rest of your senses perceive the item that you are looking at. In 2016, Dana Small, a neuroscientist at the John B. Pierce Laboratory in New Haven, Conn., and the Yale School of Medicine began a study to test how your site can affect the receptors of your other scenes. So far it’s showing to be quite effective. I suggest that you start looking up brands and their generic brands. Switching to generic brands of certain food items and over the counter had me saving significant amounts of money. Ya girl here even shops at discount stores for clothing, shoes, and household items, it may be last season or overstock, but it’s so sweet to not see a heart-stopping number on that price tag. Think about it, your paying approximately 50-80% of what you’re already paying just to drop a brand name. What could you do with 30-50% of your hard-earned money back in your pocket?

4.) Wear twice, wash once.

Hygiene standards are extremely high in the U.S. these days, do you realize in most European countries people do not shower but once every seven days, do not wash clothes every single time they wear them, and they reuse a lot of things all of the time..

5.) Enjoy freedom!

Do you enjoy doing things for Free?! Lord knows I do!! No seriously, there are several free events going on around you most nights and weekends, you don’t always have to spend a lot or any money at all. Check out Facebook events near you and see what’s going on in your area! Learn to love parks, free concerts, and even a fun community movie night! Not only will you be saving some dimes on a great time, but you’ll also get to be able to meet some new peeps!

These tips are a soft place to start relieving stress off of you and your bank account. Don’t look at them at restrictions, look at them as challenges and way to break away from paycheck to pay check living. Be bless and live with less stress!

Au Sommet Napa Valley

Au Sommet is a 45-acre property located high on the slopes of Atlas Peak (2,100 feet). Nine acres of vines are planted; the majority being Cabernet Sauvignon with two small blocks of Petit Verdot. These are vines with incredible views at times – on clear days they look east into the Central Valley, on very clear days the snow capped mountains of some of the Sierra Nevada’s can be seen from the property including a tiny view directly into Yosemite and Half Dome. Because of their elevation, the property sees a dusting of snow at times (including the day before one of our latest visits).

And we have to mention this; their normal rainfall is about 20 inches pear year but in 2016/2017 they received nearly 70 inches. These are rocky soils – and despite the higher rainfall, their vineyards drain nicely. The vines are farmed organically – chicken hutches are moved at times throughout the vineyard rows. A garden on site supplies fresh produce and goats produce milk which they turn into cheese.

Au Sommet (inaugural vintage 2008) is a partnership between vintner John Schwartz, viticulturist Jim Barbour and winemaker, Heidi Peterson Barrett – one of America’s foremost winemakers. Heidi’s father is Richard Peterson, an icon in the industry and her mother was an artist. Wine making is both an art and a science and Heidi has used her talents in both disciplines to build an extremely successful career in the Napa Valley.

She began her wine making studies at UC Davis, graduating in 1980 with a degree in Fermentation Science. She worked for several wineries in the Napa Valley until she became an independent/consulting winemaker in 1988. Her work with Dalla Valle Vineyards and Screaming Eagle was noteworthy – producing two 100 point scored wines (by Robert Parker) for both wineries. Today her talents are as sought after as ever – besides her own labels she continues to consult and make wine for a number of smaller producers in the valley.

Heidi and John have known each other for years; they first met when they were children. John is an extremely talented individual who has made food and wine an integral part of his life for several decades. His parents sent him to France to learn the culinary arts when he was young – later in his life he lived with noted chef, Julia Child for several months. He is involved in remarkable number of food & wine related projects. He is an avid traveler, collector of fine art, fine wines and proprietor of Napa Pearls Caviar. He is also involved with the American Assistance for Cambodia, an organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities for Cambodian youth and the impoverished living in rural parts of the country.

In addition to Au Sommet, both Heidi and John are associated with a number of well-regarded wines including Amuse Bouche with the following labels sold through Amuse Bouche: Prêt à Boire, Richard G. Peterson and Vin Perdu. And John is the proprietor of Coup de Foudre.

The name Au Sommet in French translates to “at the top” – in their case this has multiple meanings; the estate vineyard’s lofty elevation high on the slopes of Atlas Peak and also refers to the high standard of excellence they set for themselves. This wine features a Cabernet Sauvignon based blend each year. Only estate grapes are used and in addition, no grapes from the property are sold to other vintners.

Amuse Bouche (meaning “appetizer” in French) was founded in 2002 (the first vintage). The focus of this wine is on producing a premium Napa Merlot (simply called Red Wine) to rival some of France’s best Merlot’s (and perhaps a taste of this wine will change your perception of Merlot) in a very good way. This wine is a part of their artist series – a wine where the label changes each year, displaying a painting picked out by Heidi and John. One year featured a painting by Heidi’s mother, noted Chef Jacques Pépin, George Rodrigue (of blue dog fame) and the 2016 vintage features one of Heidi’s own paintings.

Coup de Foudre (is available for tasting at Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley in Yountville) and translates from French as “something that happens quickly, not foreseen – usually love at first sight”. As it is written on the label, “is best enjoyed when you want to capture a special moment in time and remember it forever”. John met his wife while in France and the labels for this wine are images of his early letters to her (in French) written during their courtship. John also developed the ‘peel back label’ on this wine to further treasure the memories from when it is consumed – simply peel off the front label for a keepsake (marked with Who, Where, When, and Why on its back”, leaving behind the ‘real’ label still adhered to the bottle. Heidi does not make these wines.

Prêt à Boire is a Napa Valley Rosé made from a blend of mountain grown Syrah and Grenache grapes (eastern hills of Rutherford). Appropriately named for this type of wine, it means “ready to drink” in French.

Richard G. Peterson is made by Heidi’s father Dick Peterson and features two extremely rare wines because of their particular clone – a Pinot Noir and a Brut Rosé. Dick Peterson found an ancient clone of Pinot Noir growing in the village of Wrotham (south of London) in the early 1980’s when he was in the UK judging a wine contest. He brought back several cuttings of this clone and dated it to nearly 2,000 years ago when the Romans introduced it to this part of what is now England. He planted three acres in Yountville (calling it his ‘diddly squat vineyard’). It is resistant to powdery mildew (never has to spray sulfur) and makes one of the most unique wines you will ever find in the Napa Valley (based on both the clone and the winemaker’s fascinating pedigrees).

The Brut Rosé is made from his Yountville vineyard. Dick gave some cuttings of this clone to a friend in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA (Monterey County to the south of Napa County) – today his friend now has 8 acres of this and one other Pinot Noir clone. The Pinot Noir is made from this vineyard in Monterey County.

Vin Perdu (pronounced van perdoo) translates to “lost wine” from French. This wine is made each year with premium wines that do not fit into their other portfolios. These components might be “lost” each year when they create their other blends – but they are certainly found when they build the final Vin Perdu blend. Take note of the one of a kind lenticular label – the artwork ‘changes’ when you tilt the bottle. For example the 2014 vintage shows a loose interpretation of the God Bacchus holding a glass. As you tilt the bottle, the wine glass rotates to catch the now dripping grape juice from the grapes above his hand. The labels on previous years are equally as intriguing.

The 2015 Coupe du Foudre Sauvignon Blanc is 100% varietal and is made somewhat atypical of Napa Valley produced Sauvignon Blancs. It was aged 8 months sur lie. The aromas tend to be more tropical in nature then citrus like, with notes of white pineapple and a more subtle citrus nuance. The mouth feel is what sets this apart from lighter Sauvignon blancs – it is creamy, almost oily with both a richness of weight and flavor. Peach/pear flavors show mid palate through to the long clean finish.

The 2014 Santa Lucia Highlands Richard G. Peterson Pinot Noir is ruby red in color with pretty pink tinges on the edge of the wine’s rim. Shows pleasing aromatics (sweet at times) including red cherry and cranberry and an earth spice component. Very balanced on the palate it shows red cherry, currant and a cardamom spice that Dick has identified often showing in his Wrotham clone. Drinks very well by itself.

The 2013 Amuse Bouche Red Wine is 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard source for these grapes is about 1,600 feet in the hills of eastern Rutherford. Opens immediately with appealing floral and a core of sweet spice notes including fig and brown sugar interwoven with subtle oak influences. Great acidity and bright lively fruit with flavors of red cherry and blackberry. There is a lingering tartness with well-integrated slightly chewy tannins (supple on the palate).

The 2013 Au Sommet Cabernet Sauvignon is 97% Cabernet Sauvignon with 3% Petit Verdot (all estate fruit). The bouquet is brooding at first – earthy with a mushroom quality – showing deeper darker aromatics. Letting it breath reveals layers of aroma including cigar smoke, coffee and a hint of burnt toffee along with plenty of fruit. This is a muscular wine with power, structure and flavor. Mouth watering acidity. A very long finish with robust tannins. This is an ideal wine for someone from Texas (or anywhere else for that matter) who appreciates Cabernet Sauvignon with a good steak – and the power, yet balance of an exceptionally made Napa mountain wine.

Their wines appeal to serious wine enthusiasts and collectors and perhaps to those who are partial to fine art. And because John and Heidi produce a number of wines under various labels, collectors certainly have a diversity of wines to choose from in their portfolio. And a surprising offering for a Napa winery is their Lone Whisker, a 93.8 proof Bourbon Whiskey. Aged for 12 years in barrel, this whisky is remarkably smooth on the palate.

And check out PharohMoans – yet another project John is involved with. Joining efforts with chef Bryan Ogden and winemaker Guillaume Fabre, they produce central coast (Paso Robles) wines including a Syrah and a Grenache. Features one of the most creative play on words and packaging you will ever see – the wine comes in a pyramid shaped wooden box with a handle.

In early 2017 Amuse Bouche moved their offices slightly further north on Main Street in downtown Napa and in the process built out an art gallery (visits are by appointment). This elegant space is now used for hosting tastings for a variety of wine brands associated with Heidi. Indoor seating and several outdoor chairs, roped off from the sidewalk are used for tastings.

Stormy Daniels Wants ‘Disgusting’ Catholic School ‘MAGA’ Teens Locked Up Behind Electric Wall

On Saturday night, teenagers from a Catholic high school in Kentucky were smeared by the media for allegedly harassing a Native American man who served in the Vietnam War. Full video context painted a far different picture, however: the boys from Covington Catholic High School, attending the March for Life in Washington, D.C., were confronted by the protester, Nathan Phillips, and harassed by another activist group.

According to the video evidence, the boys do not harass the Native American group nor do they chant “build the wall,” as originally reported.

The facts of the situation did not stop hot takes from pouring in online, nor did it inspire apologies and retractions from everyone who wrongly condemned, doxxed, and smeared the young men.

One of the unrepentent hot-take spewers was none other than Stormy Daniels (real name Stephanie Clifford), the porn star famously suing President Donald Trump.

Daniels called the teens “disgusting punks” via Twitter and suggested they be interned by an electrified wall in the state of Kentucky. “I’m suddenly in favor of building a wall…around Covington Catholic High in KY,” she wrote. “And let’s electrify it to keep those disgusting punks from getting loose and creating more vileness in society.”

The tweet has since been removed from Twitter, but it’s unclear if Daniels deleted it or it was removed by Twitter employees. Daniels has yet to apologize or even address the vile tweet. She did, however, keep up the following post she re-tweeted on her feed:

Daniels has publicly claimed that she had unprotected sex with Mr. Trump in a hotel room soon after Melania Trump gave birth to the couple’s son Barron in 2006. The porn star claims she signed a nondisclosure agreement and was paid $130,000 to remain silent about the alleged encounter. President Trump has denied the affair.

On the legal front, Daniels is not doing so well against the president. Her defamation lawsuit against Trump was tossed out by a federal judge and she was left on the hook for his legal fees, totaling a whopping $340,000, as The Daily Wire reported in December:

Two months after a judge dismissed Stormy Daniels’ frivolous defamation lawsuit against President Trump and ruled that she must fork over his legal fees, Trump’s attorneys have delivered the bill — and it probably won’t help the porn star’s already imploding relationship with her celebrity lawyer, Michael Avenatti.

In a federal court in Los Angeles Monday, Trump’s attorneys said they have racked up over 500 hours of work at rates as high as $840 an hour, NBC News reports. The total bill, they say, comes out to $340,000.

Trump Signs Bill That Will Provide Hundreds Of Thousands Of Gov Employees With Back Pay After Shutdown Ends

President Donald Trump signs a bipartisan bill to stop the flow of opioids into the United States in the Oval Office of the White House on January 10, 2018 in Washington, DC.

On January 10, the United States Senate unanimously passed S.24, or the “Government Employee Fair Treatment Act,” which would provide back pay for hundreds of thousands of federal employees after the end of the partial government shutdown.

The text of the bill reads in part:

(2) Each employee of the United States Government or of a District of Columbia public employer furloughed as a result of a covered lapse in appropriations shall be paid for the period of the lapse in appropriations, and each excepted employee who is required to perform work during a covered lapse in appropriations shall be paid for such work, at the employee’s standard rate of pay, at the earliest date possible after the lapse in appropriations ends, regardless of scheduled pay dates.

(3) During a covered lapse in appropriations, each excepted employee who is required to perform work shall be entitled to use leave under chapter 63 of title 5, or any other applicable law governing the use of leave by the excepted employee, for which compensation shall be paid at the earliest date possible after the lapse in appropriations ends, regardless of scheduled pay dates.

On January 11, the bill was passed by the House of Representatives with extraordinary bipartisan support (411 – 7), and passed on to the president for his signature.

President Trump signed the “Government Employee Fair Treatment Act” into law on Wednesday.

Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), who co-authored the legislation, walked a tightrope in a press release, appearing to condemn the president and/or party leadership for the ongoing partial government shutdown:

The partial government shutdown represents a failure to govern and harms not only those who need to interact with the closed agencies, but also hundreds of thousands of federal employees and their families who don’t know when they will receive their next paycheck. I am pleased that an overwhelming, bipartisan majority of our colleagues joined us in passing this legislation to guarantee back pay to federal workers affected by the shutdown. While this will help provide some peace of mind, a compromise must be reached to bring this impasse to an end as quickly as possible.

The partial government shutdown, which began on December 22, is the result of a financial impasse. While President Trump has repeatedly demanded approximately $5 billion for construction of a southern border wall, Democratic leadership has refused, offering no more than $1.6 billion for broader border security.

Shortly after the shutdown began, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director and acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney told Jon Karl of ABC’s “This Week” that a compromise offer had been made. Although he wouldn’t provide further details, an anonymous Democratic aide told the Associated Press that the offer stood at $2.5 billion.

According to a Pew Research poll released on Wednesday, 36% of Americans approve of the way in which President Trump is “handling shutdown negotiations,” while 61% disapprove. 43% of Americans approve of the way in which Democratic leadership is “handling shutdown negotiations,” while 53% disapprove.

When Quinnipiac asked Americans who they believe “is responsible for this shut down,” 56% blamed President Trump and the Republicans, while 36% blamed the Democrats.

This most recent government shutdown now holds the record as the longest in U.S. history.\

Poll: How Many Voters Support Ocasio-Cortez’s 70% Top Tax Rate? Actually, A Lot.

Member elect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) talks to fellow members of Congress during the first session of the 116th Congress at the U.S. Capitol January 03, 2019 in Washington, DC.

In an interview which, like all of her interviews, went viral, freshman Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) floated the idea of almost doubling the top income tax rate to 70% to help cover her radical green agenda. But with the top 20% of earners already paying 88.1% of all federal income taxes, would voters really support such a dramatic top rate tax hike?

“People are going to have to start paying their fair share in taxes,” the self-described “democratic socialist” told CNN’s Anderson Cooper in an early January interview. “You look at our tax rates back in the ’60s, and when you have a progressive tax-rate system, your tax rate, let’s say, from $0 to $75,000 may be 10% or 15%, etc. But once you get to the tippy tops, on your 10 millionth dollar, sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60% or 70%. That doesn’t mean all $10 million are taxed at an extremely high rate, but it means that as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more.”

A new The Hilll-HarrisX survey of 1,002 voters (481 male, 521 female) conducted Saturday and Sunday found that nearly six in ten voters (59%) say they’d support Ocasio-Cortez’s 70% top tax rate idea — “at least presently,” The Hill notes. The representative, the outlet underscores, has not actually submitted any legislation; in other words, a majority of people like the idea in theory — and without any additional tax hikes mentioned beyond a 70% tax on $10 million and up.

“Currently the top tax rate is 37%,” the survey question reads. “Would you favor or oppose a tax proposal that would apply a 70% rate to the 10 millionth dollar and beyond for individuals making 10 million a year or more in reportable income?”

When The Hill drilled down a little further into the data, it found that a 70% tax rate on $10 million or more had majority support among both men and women, Southerners and rural voters, both parites and Independents — and even had pretty solid support among Republican men.

While women support the idea 62-38%, men back it 55-45%. It earned 57-43% suppport among Southerners, 56-44% support among rural voters, and 45-55% among Republican men. Independent voters liked the notion 60-40%. Unsurprisingly, the biggest fans were Democrats, who backed the idea 71-29%.

While Ocasio-Cortez did specify that her 70% top tax rate would only apply to the 10 millionth dollar and beyond, she suggested in the interview that it would likely accompany additional rate hikes, referencing past tax rates that did so from the ’50s and ’60s and stressing that “as you climb up this ladder you should be contributing more.”

As The Daily Wire highlighted last week, at the current tax rates, which include a top tax rate of 37%, the top quintile pay nearly 90% of all federal income taxes:

The top 20% of households paid 88.1% of federal income taxes, and 69.5% of total federal taxes in 2015, ATR notes, citing the most recent numbers provided by the Congressional Budget Office. That tax burden was higher than the total share of income enjoyed by that group: 55% before taxes and 48.3% after taxes.

The top quintile paid an average federal tax rate of 26.7% that year, reducing the group’s average income from $292,000 to $215,000. (The top 81-90% of earners averaged $157,000 and saw that reduced to $125,000.)

The top one percent (around 1.2 million households) paid 39.4% of federal income taxes and 26.2% of total federal taxes, at an average total tax rate of 33.3%, dropping its average income from $1.9 million to $1.2 million. Its total percent of income was 16.6% before taxes and 13.2% after taxes.

Trump Makes ‘Salad’ Joke At White House. CNN Freaks Out.

CNN’s Erin Burnett and Joan Walsh lost their minds on Monday night after President Donald Trump made a “salad” joke while the Clemson Tigers’ football team visited the White House where they ate food personally paid for by the president.

“So I had a choice,” Trump said. “Do we have no food for you? Because we have a shutdown, or do we give you some little quick salads that the first lady will make, along with — along with the second lady, they’ll make some salads.”

“That’s appalling,” Walsh responded. “It seems to me like the president will not be happy until there is not one single female Republican voter in the country. It’s incredibly sexist.”

Walsh also falsely suggested that Trump was talking about his daughter Ivanka Trump and not Karen Pence when he said “the second lady,” despite the fact that Trump motioned to Vice President Mike Pence when he said it.

Scott Jennings called out the absurdity of Burnett’s and Walsh’s comments, suggesting that they were “over-reading this one.”

“I’m not over-reading it,” Burnett fired back. “He made a joke that was sexist about women.”

Trump made the joke while feeding the Tigers’ national championship, a dinner that he paid for since the government is shut down.

“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. “Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamburgers etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!”

6 Reasons AOC Is The Leftist Trump

After the 2016 election, political pundits asked whether Democrats would edge toward a new seriousness in order to counteract the manifest amateurism of President Trump – or whether they would instead seek to find their own Trump, a charismatic figure with little or no political experience but the unique capacity to troll others and garner massive media attention in the process.

Well, the Democrats have decided. They want their own Trump.

Her name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Here are six reasons Ocasio-Cortez is the Leftist Trump.

1. She Accomplished A Thing, And Her Supporters Have Mistaken That Accomplishment For A Qualification. Ocasio-Cortez won a Democratic primary in a totally blue district. This victory was treated by the media as a shocking win, and Ocasio-Cortez, a far more radical politician than Crowley – she was a member of the Democratic Socialists of America – was immediately hailed as the face of the new Democratic Party. Like Trump, her victory in a primary was taken as a qualification for office: she wins! It’s not taking anything away from her victory to point out that her district happened to be majority minority: 18.4 percent white, 49.8 percent Hispanic. The representative in that district, Joe Crowley, was white. Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t. Ocasio-Cortez knocked him off in a primary with precisely 15,987 votes, defeating him by 4,136 votes. The population of the district is nearly 700,000. Her win has been her sole claim to fame, and her prior lack of qualifications as evidence of her unique qualifications. This is rather reminiscent of Trump’s primary victories being scored as qualifications for office by his supporters – but he wins! Lack of qualifications were the qualification – he’s an amateur destroying the pros! She’s the same way.

2. The Media Can’t Stop Covering Her. Because Ocasio-Cortez is young (29) and attractive, the media haven’t been able to stop covering her. Her every utterance has been treated as a pearl of wisdom, her every idiocy treated as a new approach to governance. She’s been treated as the head of a movement that, statistically, does not exist as of yet (her attempts to endorse primary candidates backfired tremendously in 2018). She’s been elevated to the highest ranks of the Democratic Party without ever serving in any important committee in Congress, or indeed, sponsoring a bill. She excels in earned media in the same way Trump did. In 2016, Trump received billions in free media coverage. Ocasio-Cortez is playing the same game, and playing it well.

3. She’s Great At Social Media. It’s not just that the mainstream media have made Ocasio-Cortez a star: she’s also terrific at social media (or at least her team is). Her Instagram cooking has become so popular that Elizabeth Warren had to emulate it (poorly). Her dancing video, which supposedly drew right-wing ire (it didn’t), became such a story that Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) unleashed her own weak version. Her Twitter account is active and personal. She plays the politics of personality beautifully. She’s essentially a new-fangled reality TV star. She’s likable (no, that’s not sexist), and looks like she’s having a good time. So did Trump, at least early on – and his social media appeal gave him the unique capacity to go over the heads of the media, which forced the media to play his game.

4. She Says Incredibly Stupid Things Regularly. Like Trump, her idiocies and errors are legion. She says dishonest things, then claims that her morality ought to outweigh her dishonesty. She doesn’t know anything about economics or foreign policy or domestic governance. All of this actually creates more media around her. Were she highly intelligent and fluent in the basics of policy, she wouldn’t draw as much fire from the right. Her unique capacity to draw cameras, combined with her near-incredible ignorance on a variety of topics, makes it almost impossible for the right wing to ignore her. If they ignore, her media allies simply repeat her stupidities verbatim and pretend that the right has no response; if they engage, her media allies claim she’s in their heads. Ocasio-Cortez’s foolishness is actually a political Venus fly trap. Were she competent, conservatives wouldn’t be nearly as tempted to engage. Reverse the politics, and that’s President Trump.

5. She’s Got A Massive Victim Complex. President Trump has spent much of his candidacy and presidency complaining about the unfair treatment he receives at the hands of the media. In his own words, he whined until he won. It was nearly impossible to imagine a whinier member of the political class – until Ocasio-Cortez arrived. Rarely has a politician ever received such gushing media coverage without qualification – and yet she’s still whining that she’s being fact-checked, that the media aren’t sufficiently racially diverse to properly cover her, that the right-wing is mean to her. It works for her supporters, who see every complaint as evidence that she’s “fighting the system.” The only difference: Trump was correct to claim that the media hates anyone remotely conservative. Ocasio-Cortez’s complaints about media malfeasance are simply ridiculous. But the far-left is under the impression that the mainstream media are their enemies, rather than their chief bullhorn.

6. She’s Terrific At Trolling People. She’s a full-time troll, the same way Trump is. See, for example, this incredibly Trumpian tweet this morning:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC

I bartended for *years* in New York City. I understand guys like this like the back of my hand.

We got under his skin

Jim Sciutto✔@jimsciuttoAsked just now about @AOC, Trump says “Who cares?”

So Trump ignores her, and then she says she’s under his skin. She knows this because she served drinks to many men. Trump, by the way, doesn’t drink.

This is top-notch trollery – particularly because it’s so infuriatingly asinine. That’s the appeal: popular, unintelligent, trollish. And she’s even got a three-letter nickname, just like the Notorious RBG! In today’s political America, that’s a fantastic combination.

AOC isn’t going anywhere. She’s the new Trump for the Left. The hilarious part is that the same Left that complains about Trump can’t even see that they’ve become what they supposedly hate
