Amazon continues to come up with great ideas for the consumer. You can’t dispute the quick delivery of your items, and especially for those you use every day. If you let Amazon know how often you want it, you don’t have to think about it anymore, Amazon Prime will have it there on time. I suppose I am a great supporter of Amazon and one of the reasons is because I needed an item like yesterday, health-wise, and by the time I run around Houston to look for it and hopefully find it at the merchant who said they had it, I already had my item the next day. Merchants are great at advertising they have something and after careful research, they don’t have it, used to have it, and a hundred other explanations why it’s not in stock. I love Amazon. I also believe that those who complain about it just wish they had thought of it first.
Someone I work with said she passes an Amazon central delivery location here in Houston, on her way to work. She said there is a gas station where all the Amazon trucks in the area load up and get gas. She said there is a gas station right there and has been there before Amazon and he is making money hand over fist filling up all the Amazon trucks in the area. Good for him! Personally, I like to see people benefit and very glad this guy who had and has had this gas station maybe make some real money at least more than he did in the past.
Having said all this Amazon has come up with another idea that is fantastic, I think. It is called StyleSnap. It is not available this moment but soon will be. How this program will work is quite simple, you will upload a photo or screenshot of a fashion look you like and Amazon will recreate this for you. The feature “uses computer vision and deep learning to identify apparel items in a photo, regardless of setting” and can classify them “into categories like ‘fit-and-flair dresses’ or ‘flannel shirts or formal wear, whatever the fashion look is. This will be available shortly and for those who do not have the time to shop online or go looking for a particular item or go to a mall and see if your item will be in one of the stores you think may have it, this will be a huge help when there is something you must have, you know how we women are. Let Amazon do all the shopping for you. Let’s face it if you find a particular look you like you may end up going to a dozen or more places to find what you want. The look may not come from a department store dummy, and all the items are in the same place. How often does that happen?
For sure Amazon is going to have to power with the right brands, right now that is not the case, they are great with other lines of products, but clothing so far has not been their forte. They do now have a program called Amazon Influencer Program. The Amazon Influencer Program allows you to get your own page on Amazon with an exclusive vanity URL to showcase the products you recommend to your followers. Promote your URL, make it easier for your followers to shop your recommendations and earn money on qualifying purchases while doing it.
Influencers across any category can participate in this program. Currently, you must have a YouTube, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook account to qualify. They look at the number of followers and other engagement metrics of your social media presence.
How many times have we all wanted to tell someone about a product that really works, and this time, it comes from you to a friend and it is much more believable. Not the standard commercials with the latest entertainer pushing something and if you believe what they are saying about a product, I have the proverbial bridge to sell you.
The key here is that the moment someone sends them a “look” they want, and the goods are delivered, if it is not the quality or look expected, this could be a real downer, like goodbye to StyleSnap, but if it does work, this is like your own personal shopper like they used to have at the nicer department stores. So this is where Amazon will need to without question get with the program and hook up with the right labels. If they do, it has a good chance of working. personally, I hope it does. What a time saver this is and let’s face it Amazon was created to give the consumer what they want in a more than reasonable time period, and if it made a Jeff Bezos a billionaire well, more power to him.
